Technical Factory Trip with Industrial Design Students from Haliç University

Students from the 3rd and 4th classes of Department of Engineering, and Department of Industrial Deisign in Haliç University have been hosted in the manufacturing facilities of Prefabrik Yapi A.S.

The students have found the chance to see the container manufacturing facilities, located in Şekerpınar, closely, during the technical factory trip, organized in October 2009.

Upon the briefing of Deputy General Director of Prefabrik Yapı A.Ş., also an architect, Özlem Oğuzoğlu, the factory trip has been carried out by factory manager İbrahim Ertaş.

During the technical trip which has been performed with the company of the lecturers in the manufacturing facilities where “Genuinely Designed Unwelded Construction Technology” has been applied; butic container applications for which fiberglass meat covering material is used and the trapezium-covered standard living container have been followed with interest. Detailed information about the fibercement material which is used by Hekim Yapı, one of Hekim Holding Companies, has been given, and application samples have been shown.

The students; observing the transformation of galvanized sheet metal plate into a contrainer for the projects which will be developed from the starting point of containers; have pointed out that they are fascinated about the manufacturing processes, and this event has made a great contribution to them.
